Mábriley - Talent And Versatility

Wesley Brito Magno ou Mábriley, as he is known in the world of music, is a remarkable native of José de Alencar’s homeland, Fortaleza, Brasil. Just like in the old popular saying, “like father, like son”, his parents were musicians and still in his childhood, he started to have his first piano classes with her mother Zuíla. Mábriley was only 4 years old. Some years later, he would attend the famous music school Conservatório de Música Alberto Nepomuceno in his city, move later to other Brazilian cities and have precious chances to play in Europe and in the United States of America.

Mábriley, perfectionist by nature, waited for the right moment to release his debut album in 2000, Vendaval (Gale). The title track which can be heard on the site player in a special extended version, immediately gives you an idea about the talent and technique the artist owns. A smash hit in the recitals in which he takes part, Vendaval, written by Mábriley himself, has got fast recognition of the public and the same goes to his album, what led him to release five more new CD's in the following years.

Metamorfose (Metamorphosis, 2008), his fifth album, once more offers a song selection recorded in his acclaimed style and became a big success during his live performances.

His latest album, Mábriley de A/Z (Mábriley from A to Z) released in 2009, features 20 out of his greatest hits plus two unreleased songs, "Tanguetto" and "Obsessão". The artist not only chose the songs but also did re-record each one of them.

The musician’s versatility becomes just plain when one listens to his repertoire, always eclectic and filled with very good quality music. Mábriley flirts with a great range of musical genders, going easily from cult world ballads like If (Bread) and Feelings (by the Brazilian singer Morris Albert) and Brazilian Pop Music (Gente Humilde, by Vinicius de Morais and Chico Buarque) to classical music and songs written by himself, when then you can hear “chorinhos’ (Pra Você, Chiquinha – written to pay homage to Chiquinha Gonzaga, a famous Brazilian lady musician), boleros (Pura Ilusão) and some truly amazing songs written by other songwriters and specially arranged by him, like Prelúdio ao Amor (also featuring on the site player) by the composer from Fortaleza, João Colares, to which Mábriley added even more a special bright to something already perfect and heavenly inspired. These are just some of the good surprises which this great artist especially selects to his fans and new admirers of his work.

Listening to Mábriley is like to make a truly delicious journey into our very soul and get back begging for more, much more!
