The musician and songwriter Wesley Brito Magno (Mábriley) was Born in Fortaleza, Ce, Brazil, where at the age of four he started to practice the piano with his mother Zuíla. After he had some private piano classes with some lady teachers, he became a student at Conservatório de Música Alberto Nepomuceno in Fortaleza, where he attended music classes with the conductor Orlando Leite.
In 1966, he moved to Brasília , D.F, where he continued his piano studies at Escola de Música de Brasília. He began his career as a songwriter in the 70’s and participated in several Music Festivals. During this period, he became a singer at some choirs , whose experience turned out to be very important for his Musical Curriculum.
He began to work for an air company in Brazil in 1976, therefore he had the opportunity to play in several countries in Europe and also in the United States of America. He was transferred to São Paulo in 1983 due some changes in his company and in that city he continued his professional and musical career.
In 2000, Mábriley released his debut album, Vendaval, featuring his own songs and unreleased arrangements and the artist promoted his work by performing live at Teatro José de Alencar, Fortaleza.
His second album, Musicaleando (2005), had as a title the name of his first track. The name was chosen by the own author to express his peculiar way “to play with music” at the piano. His fifth album was released in 2008, Metamorfose and once more the musician was in his homeland to promote it. He performed at recitals at Teatro José de Alencar and also at Centro Cultural Oboé in May, 2008.
Still in that same year, the artist performed in a recital at Jayr Aciolly Hall in the Museu Histórico e Cultural de Jundiaí, São Paulo, Brazil. Besides promoting his new album at that time and playing his own songs, he also performed live great national and international all time hits by world famous artists such as Gente Humilde, Feelings and If. The recital closed up the homages paid to the International Women’s Day which were being leading by Grupo Sol da Cidadania.
The latest artist’s album is called Mábriley de A/Z. It’s his sixth album and was released in 2009. He is the result of a special selection of songs done by the musician himself, featuring 2 new songs, "Tanguetto" and "Obsessão" and 20 of his greatest hits. However, he decided to re-record each one of those old songs. Mábriley de A/Z has all its tracks appearing in alphabetical order and offers songs with fresh new arrangements exclusively created for the album.
